CCRS module in Evangelisation / Autumn 2022

Sion Catholic Community for Evangelism, in partnership with Brentwood Diocese, offers a 10-hour specialist CCRS module, Evangelisation, in Autumn 2022.

IN PERSON: attend two study days 10 September and 12 November

OR

ONLINE: five two-hour sessions 7 pm – 9 pm on Thursday evenings
3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th November and 1st December via Zoom

This module is open to CCRS participants across England & Wales in lieu of taking one of the specialist modules in your local CCRS centre. The course is also open to anyone who simply wants to learn more about how and why to share the Good News of Jesus Christ!

In this module you will discover the Biblical roots and key Vatican documents about how and why we should share our faith with others; the history of how the Catholic Faith spread through the world and the new challenges of a post-Christian world which requires a “new evangelisation”. You will discover the usual thresholds of faith which believers pass through on the journey from “no religion” to being a committed member of the Church, the key pastoral challenges of sharing faith in today’s culture, and many tools which can help individuals, parishes and communities to become effective in sharing the Gospel message.

There are two ways to access this module:

IN PERSON

We held a study day at the Sion Community National Training Centre (SENT) in Brentwood (CM15 9BX), on Saturday 10 September. The same content will be offered as part of the online series; it would be possible to watch talks 1-4 online and then come to talks 6-10 in person on Saturday 12 November (9.30 am – 7.00 pm).

Each day includes five contact hours of teaching, and offers the opportunity to join Sion Community for Morning Prayer and evening Mass.

Please bring your own packed lunch; tea and coffee will be available. Bed & breakfast (and the means of making a packed lunch) is available the night before and the night after for participants travelling from a distance, for an additional charge of £40 per night (or £50 with supper).

ONLINE

The same course content will be offered as five two-hour sessions 7 pm – 9 pm on Thursday evenings 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th November and 1st December via Zoom.

COST

The cost of taking part in this course is £50 – the same price applies whether you are attending in-person or online, and whether or not you are being formally assessed for the CCRS certificate.
