A frequently asked question (or FAQ) is, “What is the difference between Evangelism and Evangelisation?” Well this is what Sion Community considers to be the difference between the two:
Evangelism means the direct proclamation of the Gospel Message. In simple terms it’s me telling you about Jesus.
Evangelisation means the whole process of first meeting someone, to getting to know them, to sharing your life and faith stories together, to talking about Jesus, to making Jesus an active part of both your lives, to going on to meet someone else, to getting to know them, to sharing your life and faith stories together, to talking about Jesus, to making Jesus an active part of both your lives, to going on to meet someone else, … ok, I think you get it! In more strictly Christian terminology it is about the whole journey of discipleship and discipling.
In simple terms we have identified our primary calling as proclaimer’s of the Good News about Jesus. The focus of our mission teams is to share the story of the Gospel in ways that are relevant and meaningful for a post-modern world and church. Want more?
